It’s the question we hear most in the showroom: real hardwood, or luxury vinyl plank? Both are good floors. The right answer depends on your rooms, your budget, and how you live.

Cost

Hardwood is a bigger investment upfront, but it can be refinished many times, often lasts for decades, and may help increase your home’s value.

Durability and water

LVP is fully waterproof, which makes it a favorite for bathrooms, laundry rooms, and homes with big dogs. Hardwood doesn’t love standing water, but a good finish handles daily life fine, and you can sand it back to new.

• Go with LVP for moisture-prone rooms and heavy pet traffic.
• Go with hardwood for living areas, bedrooms, and long-term value.

Our take
