Engineered hardwood has a genuine hardwood wear layer bonded to a cross-ply core. That core resists the seasonal movement that affects solid wood, so it stays flatter in humid or variable conditions.
It’s the better choice over concrete slabs, in basements, and on top of radiant heat, all common in the PNW.
